How to Upload Documents

Go to Knowledge Base
Navigate to your bot's Knowledge Base section in the dashboard

Click "Upload Documents"
Select files from your computer or drag and drop

Documents are automatically parsed and indexed (usually 1-2 minutes)

Document Best Practices
Do
- • Use clear headings and structure
- • Include specific product names and terms
- • Keep content up-to-date
- • Use searchable (not scanned) PDFs
- • Break large docs into smaller files
- • Remove watermarks and headers
Don't
- • Upload image-only PDFs (use OCR first)
- • Include confidential/sensitive data
- • Upload duplicate content
- • Use heavily formatted documents
- • Include irrelevant boilerplate text
- • Forget to update stale content
Troubleshooting
Document processing failed
Check file format and size. Try re-saving as PDF or TXT. Ensure the file isn't password protected.
Text not extracted correctly
For scanned PDFs, run OCR first using Adobe Acrobat or free tools like OCRmyPDF.
Bot not using uploaded content
Wait for processing to complete (status shows 'Ready'). Try asking questions using exact phrases from the document.
Upload stuck at 0%
Check your internet connection. Try a smaller file first. Clear browser cache and retry.
