Quick Start Guide
Follow this guide to create and deploy your first AI chatbot in just a few minutes.
Prerequisites
- A Chatmefy account (free tier available)
- Access to edit your website's HTML
- 5 minutes of your time
Create Your Account
If you haven't already, sign up for a free Chatmefy account. No credit card required.
Create Free AccountCreate Your First Bot
From your dashboard, click "New Bot" to create a new chatbot. Give it a name that identifies its purpose (e.g., "Support Bot" or "Sales Assistant").
Recommended Settings:
- • Name: Something friendly like "Alex" or "Support Team"
- • Welcome Message: A brief greeting that sets expectations
- • Tone: Match your brand voice (friendly, professional, casual)
Add Knowledge (Optional but Recommended)
Train your bot with information about your business. You can:
- Upload documents: PDFs, Word docs, or text files
- Crawl your website: Automatically import content from your site
- Add Q&A pairs: Manually add common questions and answers
You can skip this step and add knowledge later. The bot will still work with basic conversation capabilities.
Install the Widget
Copy the installation code from your bot's settings and paste it before the closing </body> tag on your website.

Test Your Bot
Visit your website and you should see the chat widget in the bottom-right corner. Click it to start a conversation and test your bot!

- • View conversations in your dashboard

Troubleshooting
Widget not appearing?
Make sure the script is placed before </body> and your bot ID is correct. Clear your browser cache and try again.
Bot not responding correctly?
Add more training data to your knowledge base. The more information you provide, the better the responses.
